meet heather

Heather’s career as a leading fine jewelry editor, advisor and expert has spanned over two decades. Her passion for jewelry started at an early age with weekly trips to the safety deposit box with her mother, where she would play with her grandmother’s collection of art deco and edwardian jewelry.

After graduating from Cornell University with a degree in Art History, Heather moved to New York City to pursue her interest in fashion at esteemed brands including Chanel, Elle Magazine, Town & Country and Moda Operandi. As the accessories editor at Elle Magazine, Heather identified fine jewelry, vintage and new, as the source of her inspiration.  For eleven years, she led the award-winning jewelry editorial team at Town & Country Magazine, discovering and launching new designers, directing editorial coverage of the jewelry and accessories categories and styling hundreds of dazzling pages.

The name Netherfield is derived from the street where Heather was raised outside Philadelphia and evokes countless important memories, much like the charms on each bespoke necklace.

Heather’s own Netherfield necklace on our signature 5th Avenue chain includes: a vintage Sagittarius (her zodiac sign), a vintage aquamarine FOB (to honor her mother and grandmother who both wore fabulous aqua cocktail rings), a vintage fish (her husband and 2 boys are water signs), our signature cage charm filled with sapphires (her youngest son’s birthstone) and a vintage trash can filled with jewels engraved last years jewels (to celebrate her life as a jewelry editor).

Heather lives in Los Angeles with her husband and three boys.
